Return to Parent Profiles

Dear Birthparents,

This letter may be as strange to read, as it is to write since we do not know one another. Actually, we do have a few things in common. . .for one thing, we all want what is best for your child. Also, all of our futures are a little unknown right now and we are all on a journey which involves some big decisions (yours being the most difficult). We hope this letter and these pictures will help you to see into our lives and also give you some hope and direction for you and your child.

We (Curt & Carrie) are both 41 and have quite a long history together. We met in 8th grade, started dating each other in 10th grade and got married 9 years later. In September we will have been married for 16 years. Children were always in our plan, but we found out that biologically this wasn’t going to happen. So God began to prepare our hearts and we began to consider adoption. In January 2005, Sarah (now 2 ˝), joined our family through adoption. We immediately began to experience that awesome love that God was preparing us for. Sarah is a very happy child who LOVES life to the fullest. She adores other children and we know she’d make a wonderful sister. We love being parents to this little girl, but we feel our family isn’t quite complete. . .we have more love to share.

We live in a house on a “court” in an established subdivision in which the grade school is part of. Our home is also very close to several parks and bike paths. Play, play, play is what we do best around here.  When we are outside, we may walk to the park, ride our bikes, play in the sand box, roll down our hill or hang out with one of the 13 other children in our court! Inside activities may include playing dress-up, creating with Play-dough or marching around the house playing an assortment of instruments while singing “Oh Susanna”!

When he’s not playing “daddy”, Curt spends most of his time as a successful real estate agent. You can also find him on the racquetball court, working out in the yard and taking Sarah for a ride in our convertible. Carrie also has her real estate license which allows her to help with open houses and show a house or two. She also loves to garden, go for walks and cook. But most of her time is spent playing “mommy”, which she loves more than anything! We are all very active in our church as well; messing up the nursery is Sarah’s job and Curt & Carrie teach Sunday school and are involved in various committees and activities.

Family is a big part of our life since most of them live within 10 minutes from us. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins are all eagerly awaiting for another addition to our family! We know that God has a plan for all of our lives and we know that adoption is a part of His plan for us. Hopefully our prayers for you will be felt and that God reveals His plan for you. . . .
